What BM Discounter is, in plain language
We collect what building-material suppliers publish about their products — the specifications, the listed prices, the availability they indicate — and put it side by side so the differences are visible in one place instead of across a dozen open tabs.
That is the whole product. We are not a shop: there is no cart, no checkout and no delivery. Nothing is bought from us, and we hold no stock. When you have decided, you deal with the supplier directly.
Why we exist
Building-material prices differ meaningfully between suppliers, and checking each webshop separately costs time on every order. BM Discounter puts the public offers side by side so that difference becomes visible in seconds.
Who it is for
Contractors, trade buyers and project teams comparing before procurement — and private buyers who want the same clarity for larger jobs.
How we earn money
The platform is free to use and there is no subscription. Two things pay for it, and you can always tell which one you are looking at:
- Referral fees — where a supplier has a referral arrangement with us, we may earn a fee when you follow a link to their site. The fee is paid by the supplier, never added to your price, and it does not change the ranking. The Affiliate Disclosure sets out the terms.
- Sponsored placements — a supplier can pay for extra visibility in a clearly marked slot. Sponsored content is always labelled, never alters product facts, and never reorders the organic ranking. The Sponsored Placement Disclosure sets out the rules.
What we are independent of
We are not owned by, funded by or operated on behalf of any supplier, manufacturer or buying group, and no supplier has editorial control over what is listed or how it ranks.
Organic results are ranked by objective criteria such as relevance and listed price — never by payment. Supplier names and logos appear to identify whose offer you are looking at; they do not imply a partnership or an endorsement in either direction. Comparative labels such as “cheapest” appear only where a stated, checkable metric supports them.
Where the data comes from, and how fresh it is
Offer information is taken from public supplier sources and refreshed periodically, not continuously. Every product page carries the date its price information was last observed, so you can judge for yourself how current it is.
That also means an entry can lag behind a supplier's own live webshop. The Data Sources Policy explains where each field comes from and how corrections are processed.
What we cannot tell you
Stated plainly, because these are the limits people run into:
- We do not confirm final prices, stock, lead times or delivery terms — only the supplier can.
- Offers marked quote-required carry no published price and are excluded from price rankings.
- Coverage is not exhaustive: a supplier we do not list may well be cheaper.
- Business and trade pricing is negotiated between you and the supplier; we do not publish it.
Where we operate
The platform focuses on the Dutch market and is available in English and Dutch. See Countries & Languages for the full picture.
Corrections, questions and complaints
If an entry is wrong, tell us — the correction form captures the product, the seller and the offer so it can be checked against the source. General questions, business enquiries and privacy requests each have their own route on the contact page. Our terms, privacy notice and cookie information are linked in the footer of every page.
